TW — machined thermowells

Machined or welded body

Category: Industrial sensors · Thermowells & protection tubes

Full description

• Machined or welded body • Wide variety of materials • Connection: The thermowell is a tubular thermal conductor designed to take a thermometer. It is recommended for the mechanical protection of a sensing element and for protection against corrosive effects. A thermowell allows an instrument to be replaced, or maintenance and calibration to be carried out, without disturbing or interrupting the process. DESIGN The thermowells are designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures in processes running at high velocities. According to the service conditions (pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, corrosion), several versions can be considered: Body machined from solid or fabricated by welding Threaded connection Socket weld connection Flange MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS Standard materials Stainless steel 316 / 316-Ti / 304 / 321 Special materials Monel / titanium / nickel / Hastelloy C276 / Hastelloy C4 / Inconel 600 / Incoloy 800, etc. Special materials (lined) Tantalum / PTFE / Hastelloy C276 / Hastelloy C4 / zirconium (lining of the wetted parts) CE conformity: the device meets the legal requirements of the European Directives in force. IDENTIFICATION Each thermowell is identified with: Serial number (on request) Material and immersion length Flange size and PN DOCUMENTS, TESTS / CHECKS, CERTIFICATES Manufacturing drawing Hydrostatic pressure test Dye penetrant testing Certificate according to EN 10204 3.1.B, 3.1.C Heat number stamped on the body and on the flange Certificate according to NACE MR.01.75 Tensile test, impact test Heat treatment certificate Huey test / ASTM A 262-C Performance test / ASME PTC 19.3 – 1974 Welding procedure specification (WPS) Procedure qualification record (PQR)
