Series LS-V — vertical float level switches

Vertical mounting

Category: Industrial sensors · Level switches and gauges

Full description

• Vertical mounting • Simple mounting • Reed contact, NO or NC • Buna-N, PPH, brass, stainless steel • Small footprint • ⅛" NPT or ¼" NPT connections Liquid level control, from the top of any type of tank Suitable for water, oil, corrosive or food liquids according to the materials The device can be connected directly through the ⅛" or ¼" NPT threaded fitting, or through an extension stem with a ⅛" or ¼" NPT tapped fitting. Magnetic level switch: float with built-in magnet and reed switch A reed contact is encapsulated in the guide tube. As the float slides along the guide tube, it triggers the reed contact through the magnetic field of its ring magnet. The contact can be NC or NO according to how it is fitted. Note: reed contacts are extremely reliable and can give more than 5 million switching cycles when operated at their rated electrical load. The electrical load conditions they will be subjected to must be considered. Too high a current can burn or weld the reed contact and damage it. A circuit is recommended to protect the switch against current overloads (see Doc 2..-0. / contact protection relay). Important note: these are not latching switches, so the contacts act only while under the influence of the magnet. If the float moves away from a contact, that contact returns to its initial position. The contacts can be held in the working position by using stop rings to limit the float's travel and so hold the contact position mechanically.
