Series LS-L — side-mounted float level switches

Side use

Category: Industrial sensors · Level switches and gauges

Full description

• Side use • Simple mounting • Reed contact, NO or NC • Materials: PPH or stainless steel • Small footprint • Connections: ½" NPT, 1" NPT, plain Ø 23 Liquid level control, side-mounted at the top or bottom of any type of tank Suitable for water, oil, corrosive or food liquids according to the materials A reed contact is encapsulated in the fixed arm of the switch. As the float, with its magnet at the end, lifts away from the switch axis, it triggers the reed contact through the magnetic field of its magnet. Turning the switch through 180° reverses the contact function: NC or NO. Note: reed contacts are extremely reliable and can give more than 5 million switching cycles when operated at their rated electrical load. The electrical load conditions they will be subjected to must be considered. Too high a current can burn or weld the reed contact and damage it. A circuit is recommended to protect the switch against current overloads (see Doc 2..-0. / contact protection relay). The float (1) tilts with its encapsulated magnet (2). The reed switch (3) is set in the body (4), with a nut. As it tilts, the float with its encapsulated magnet operates the reed contact set inside the body of the switch.
