Platinum-rhodium thermocouple with three measuring levels, fitted with a small platinum protection thimble. Platinum-rhodium couples withstand very high temperatures in oxidising atmospheres; the three levels give the thermal profile over the height, and the platinum thimble protects the hot junctions without introducing metallic contamination.
