Measuring scale: from 1 to 500 m H₂O

Category: Industrial sensors · Level transmitters

Full description

• Measuring scale: from 1 to 500 m H₂O • Sensor and housing: 316 L stainless steel • Diaphragm: Hastelloy • Internal surge protection • Option: ATEX or DNV certification The NIVAPRESS SGE-25 hydrostatic level probe suits level measurement of clear liquids and wastewater held in tanks, deep wells or piezometers. This sensor is particularly recommended for monitoring and controlling submersible pumps and wastewater lifting stations. The NIVAPRESS SGE-25 sensor is immersed in the liquid. The pressure on the sensor rises in proportion to the immersion depth. Pressure is measured at the diaphragm, which is vented to atmosphere through the capillary inside the cable. The active sensing element is a piezoresistive silicon sensor isolated by a very hard-wearing Hastelloy diaphragm. An electronic amplifier working with the sensor converts the reading into a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V analog signal. This amplifier has a surge protection circuit that shields the probe from damage caused by interference induced by atmospheric discharges or by nearby high-current equipment. Mounting accessories: Installing the NIVAPRESS SGE-25 probe is made simpler by a fixing system such as the suspension clamp (b) to hold it, and/or a BJSC junction box (a). The probe can hang freely from the cable or lie on the bottom of the tank. Installation precaution: The pressure-compensating junction box (BJSC) holds the sensor and balances it against atmospheric pressure through a vent built into the front of the box. It markedly reduces the risk of dust and moisture ingress and is also recommended for extending the sensor cable. The cable can be extended with a standard signal cable. For long cable runs, the additional wall-mounted surge protection box BPS 102 is recommended.
